Opening Ceremony in our Primary School in Kunduz, Afghanistan
IN AFGOn 27 March, we opened our Primary School for the 3rd year. Our local partners choose, together with the Ministry of Social Affairs, 75 children you will attend the school and get food, as before – breakfast and a warm lunch. They will stay in our school also in the afternoon, until 4pm attending more classes.
Of these 75 children 46 are boys and 29 girls, 43 are orphans and 32 are from underpriviledged families. They are between 6 and 13 years old.
We have now classes from 1st to 6th degree.
On top of these 75 children, we will accept 30 more who attend only the classes in the morning, without lunch. Their parents can afford the food.
Here are some pictures. The children look happy.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the official instances like the Governor, the Ministries of Education, of Social Affairs, etc. and the media.
Just after closing the winter school, we financed the most important repairs and improvements, like new carpets, barbed fences on the courtyard wall for better security, gravelling the ground under the outdoor toys, painting them, construction of an outside room to protect the generator and the electric installations, new trees inside the compound and outside, etc.
